Welcome to the Wangenitzsee HutThe Wangenitzsee Hut (2508m), located at Lake Wangenitzsee, is the highest hut in the Schober Group and lies idyllically by the deep blue Wangenitzsee in the Hohe Tauern National Park. It serves as a starting point for tours in a wild and remote mountain area.Since September 2009, it has officially been owned by the Lienz section of the Austrian Alpine Club. Prior to that, it belonged to the NKBV. The Wangenitzseehütte opens on 20 June 2026.
