Ostpreussenhütte

Listed hut on the way from Werfen to the Hochkönig, European long-distance hiking trail E4. 18 beds in 8 cosy double rooms and 2 single rooms, 20 beds in the hut's dormitory and 8 in the outbuilding. Historic parlour and friendly guest room. Environmentally friendly refurbishment with drying room, temperature-controlled and shower facilities, even warm depending on the PV yield. Sun terrace and sunbathing lawns. A popular destination for day trips and overnight stays with a cosy evening in the hut. Suitable for families. Normal ascent from the Dielalm hiking car park 620 m (trail no. 401) or Imlauberg hiking car park (Schwarzkogelweg) 700 m, each approx. 2.5 hours. Alternative start from the valley in Tenneck/Blühnbachtal, Werfen or Pfarrwerfen/Imlau, each about 1,150 metres in altitude and 3.5 to 4 hours.
